The book, 125 Years Of Canadian Aeronautics: A Chronology 1840 - 1965 represents the first complete pictorial chronology of Canadian aeronautics to be published in its entirety although a number of abbreviated ones have previously appeared in serial publications.  "125 Years Of Canadian Aeronautics: A Chronology 1840 - 1965" takes a comprehensive review of both civilian and military Canadian aviation activities during this timeframe.  More specifically, this book documents many previously unrecorded events and makes some minor corrections to other incidents previously listed elsewhere.  The chronology establishes a number of new Canadian 'firsts' in the field of aeronautics and these well-researched claims should stand the test of time.  Also of note, the introduction lays out ten different notes, which serve to highlight the guiding themes behind the selection of aircraft, events and pilots documented in this book.  Many of these notes have to do with defining whether an aircraft, event or pilot should be considered part of 125 Years Of Canadian Aeronautics spanning the years of 1840 - 1965.  As the title suggests, these 125 years are chronicled in sequence first by decade and later by year as the pace of aviation activity began to accelerate shortly following the Wright Brothers first recorded heavier-than-air powered flight at Kitty Hawk North Carolina in December 1903.  The major sections of "125 Years Of Canadian Aeronautics: A Chronology 1840 - 1965" are as follows: 1) Foreword; 2) Preface; 3) Introduction; 4) Acknowledgements; 5) Pre 1840; 6) 1840 - 1849; 7) 1850 - 1859; 8) 1860 - 1869; 9) 1870 - 1879; 10) 1880 - 1889; 11) 1890 - 1899; 12) 1900 - 1905; 13) 1906 - 1965 By Year; 14) Index 1 - Aircraft (heavier than air); 15) Index 2 - Aircraft (lighter than air); 16) Index 3 - Awards; 17) Index 4 - Companies/organizations; 18) Index 5 - Engines; 19) Index 6 - Events/meets; 20) Index 7 Firsts; 21) Index 8 - Miscellaneous; 22) Index 9 - People and 23) Index 10 - Places.  In addition to an informative narrative, "125 Years Of Canadian Aeronautics: A Chronology 1840 - 1965" includes the following features: 1) Approximately 339 black and white vintage photographs; 2) About 5 black and white illustrations and 3) 1 color illustration.  This book is 328 pages and is in very good condition.  The authors are G.A. Fuller, J.A. Griffin and K.M. Molson.  Edition published in 1983.
