The Ford Motor Company Model "A" was produced between 1927 and 1931. The Ford Model "A" followed the exceptionally popular but outdated Model "T" and by the time production ceased in 1931 almost five million units had been produced in Detroit, Michigan, Cologne, Germany and Buenos Aires, Argentina. The Model "A" was produced in many body styles including the Standard and Deluxe Roadster versions, which are the subject of this kit. The Model "A" was powered by a L- head, 4-cylinder engine and utilized the new 3- peed sliding gear transmission. Henry Ford was known to have taken the lead in designing the engine power train and chassis while his son Edsel Ford took the lead in designing the automobile body and interior. The result of their combined effort is a car that is still driven and admired to this day. This older, out-of-production Ford Model "A" Roadster model includes the following features and does not require painting: 1) Black chassis; 2) Chrome colored accent parts; 3) Clear windshield; 4) Five rubber tires; 5) Gold ton body; 6) Tan interior and 7) Illustrated assembly instructions. The box is in excellent condition but does have remnants of original packaging tape. Never started and 100% complete with all parts and instructions inventoried.
