When you think of the word Corvette, one of the first images that comes to mind is the sleek, split-window 1963 Corvette Stingray. The 1963 Corvette Stingray was the first, all-new Corvette since the marquee was originally launched in 1953. While the split-window was gone by the 1964 model year due to rear-view obstruction in caused, other less noticable features were continued such as four wheel independent suspension, a new perimeter-type frame, as well as, optional power steering and brakes. The 327 cu. in. V-8 engine was available in several versions including a powerful 360 h.p. fuel injected variant. Approximately 21,500 Stingrays were produced in 1963 and were sold with a base sticker price of $4,000. This older, out-of-production, 135 piece 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray scaled model can be built as a stock, custom or drag vehicle. Other features included in this 1963 Corvette Stingray model are as follows: 1) Chrome parts; 2) Clear plastic window glass areas; 3) Custom decals; 4) Detailed 340 h.p., 327 cu. in. "small block" V-8 or optional 427 cu. in. V-8 with Weber Carburetors/super charger, header exhaust, fuel injection on a 327 cu. in. V-8 engine; 4) Exterior options including custom hood, custom exhaust tips, hood scope and drag racing chute; 5) Four speed manual transmission; 6) Hood can be displayed in the closed or open position; 7) Stock or optional "Mag" wheels; 8) Vinyl stock FR78-14 Goodyear Radials or rear drag slicks and 9) Illustrated assembly instructions. The box is in excellent condition. Never started and factory sealed.
