The Mercury Division of the Ford Motor Company took their muscle car market segment profile to the next level when they introduced the Cougar Eliminator in the Spring of 1969.  Engine options ranged from the 302 cu. in. small block V-8 to the 428 cu. in. Cobra Jet big block V-8.  While the Mercury Cougar was known as a more refined muscle car, when equipped with the 428 cu. in. V-8 engine it could compete on performance with Z 28 and SS Chevrolet Camaros, as well as, Ford Mach I Mustangs in the "pony car" automobile segment.  The "Eliminator's" hood scope was only functional when ordered with the Ram Air option.  With a blacked-out grille, custom side stripes, as well as, a rear spoiler the Mercury Cougar Eliminator could be ordered in "high-Impact" blue, orange and yellow exterior colors.  Many engine performance enhancing options like headers and dual quad carburetors were available as well from Mercury dealers.  This 1969 Cougar Eliminator scaled model includes the following options: 1) Authentic custom decals; 2) Chrome parts; 3) Clear plastic window glass areas; 4) Detailed V-8 engine; 5) Detailed interior; 6) Hood can be displayed in the closed or open position; 7) Rear spoiler; 8) Vinyl tires and 9) Illustrated assembly instructions.  The box is in new condition.  Never started and factory sealed.
