The 40 mm Bofors gun was reliable, efficient and available at the outbreak of World War II in 1939.  This anti-aircraft gun was utilized by both the Allies and Axis countries during World War II and continues to be used by the armed forces of many countries to this day.  Originally designed by the Swedish Bofors Company, this weapon was adopted by upwards of 18 countries and became the standard light anti-aircraft weapon with the British armed forces.  The 40 mm Bofors gun has an average rate of fire of 60 - 90 rounds per minute, can traverse 360 degrees and has an elevation capability of from 5 to 90 degrees.  While this gun was normally lowered from its wheeled undercarriage before being operated, it was capable of being fired while still resting on its wheels.  While being used by the British, the typical towing vehicle for the 40 mm Bofors Gun was the Morris CD / SW 30 cwt. 6x4 tractor which was powered by a 6-cylinder motor.  The gun crew was typically comprised of five soldiers.  This older 40 mm Bofors Gun + Tractor scaled model includes the following features: 1) Ammunition and storage crates; 2) Authentic markings for either No. 1 Battery, B Troop, 15th Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment attached to the 7th Armored Division, North Africa, 1940 or No. 1 Battery, B Troop, 6 AA Division responsible for the defense of Essex, North Kent and Thames Estuary, 1940; 3) Detailed cab interior; 4) Detailed chassis; 5) Molded in tan color plastic; 6) Separately molded equipment; 7) Three-soldiers and 8) Illustrated assembly instructions.  The box is in like-new condition.  Never started and 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions inventoried.
