The A-7 Corsair II is a carrier-based subsonic light attack aircraft design that was introduced to replace the A-4 Skyhawk in U.S. Naval service and is based on the successful supersonic F-8 Crusader aircraft produced by Chance-Vought.  The A-7D featured a head-up display (HUD), doppler-bounded inertial navigation system (INS) and a turbofan engine.  It initially entered service with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and was then adopted by the U.S.A.F. to replace their A-1 Skyraiders.  It was also exported in numbers to Greece in the 1970s and Portugal and Thailand in the late 1980s.  This older, out-of-production A-7D Corsair II kit is quality engineered in three colors.  Authentic decals are included for two aircraft: 1) 356th Tactical Fighter Squadron, "Green Demons". 354th TFW, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, 1972 and 2) 357th Tactical Fighter Squadron, "Licking Dragons", 355th TFW, Davis-Monthan AFB, Arizona.  This box is in excellent condition with original tape sealing the left and right ends of the box.  Never started and factory sealed.
