 The North American built AT-6 Texan was produced beginning in World War II as a single engined, advanced trainer for the United States Army Air Corps., United States Navy, the Bristish Royal Air Force and for the other air forces of the British Commonwealth nations.  The AT-6 was named the "Texan" in the United States and outside America as the "Harvard".  The AT-6 was produced in many variants, was used well into the 1950s and included the following operational characteristics: 1) Top speed of just over 200 m.p.h.; 2) Range of just over 700 miles and 3) Service ceiling of about 24,000 feet.  By the time production ended almost 15,500 units had been produced including almost 4,400 of the D variant which was is the subject of this AT-6 D Texan model.  This older AT-6 D model is molded in gray plastic and includes the following features: 1) Authentic markings for a AT-6 D flown post World War II by the United States Air Force; 2) Clear multi-piece plastic canopy; 3) Detailed engine; 4) Detailed landing gear; 5) Pilot figure; 6) Recessed panel lines with rivet detail; 7) Painting guide and 8) Illustrated assembly instructions.  The box is in excellent condition.   Never started and 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions inventoried.
