 The book, Aerial Warfare, brings to life the tension and drama of aerial combat with its many illustrations, photographs and maps which serve to outline the strategies involved.  This information is complemented by major contributions from leading experts in the field of military aviation.  Divided into three major sections covering roles, campaigns and actions this book gives insightful coverage of the entire history of aerial warfare through the early 1980s.  Section one deals with such varied topics as air defense, air-sea rescue and strategic bombing.  Section two includes comprehensive coverage of such significant events as the first time the airplane was utilized as a war machine in the Italian Campaign in Libya of 1911, the strategically decisive Battle of Britain and the hard fought battles of the many Arab-Israeli wars.  Section three investigates fascinating and important individual air action like the Ruhr dam raids by the Royal Air Force in 1943, the successful United States Army Air Force Ploesti raids of 1942 & 1943 and the Luftwaffe's last major air raid of World War II which took place against Allied airfields in Europe on New Year's Day 1945.  In addition to a comprehensive text, "Aerial Warfare" includes the following features: 1) Approximately 370 black and white vintage photographs; 2) About 149 color photographs many of which were taken during World War II; 3) 5 black and white illustrations; 4) Approximately 106 color illustrations many of which are side aircraft profiles and 5) 9 maps.  This book is 384 pages and is in good condition.  The editor of this book is Anthony Robinson with a foreword provided by General Adolf Galland.  Edition published in 1982.
