The largest air rescue organization in Switzerland, the REGA rescue service was founded in 1952 and coordinates all operations from its base located at Zurich airport.  In late 1995, REGA acquired and deployed fifteen Agusta A-109 K-2 twin turbo-engine rescue helicopters.  The Agusta A-109 K-2 is designed to transport and provide medical care for seriously injured patients and can carry a pilot, doctor, paramedic, two injured people and one passenger.  The A-109 K-2 is tailored to meet REGA’s job specifications including: 1) Two French Turbomeca 771 continuous horse power engines; 2) Low operational weight; 3) Winch for two with 164 feet long cable and 4) Service ceiling of 14,764 above sea level.  The Augusta A-109 K-2 has a good height power factor, which allows it to hover at an altitude of 12,674 feet with an operational load of 5,952 pounds.  REGA’s Augusta A-109 K-2 rescue transport helicopters are equipped with extensive medical equipment, as well as, digital autopilot, GPS, a state-of-the-art radio system and powerful search light for night missions.  This older model includes the following features: 1) Authentic markings for an Agusta A-109 K-2 operated by the Swiss REGA rescue transport service; 2) Clear plastic cockpit and fuselage “glass” areas; 3) Detailed cockpit; 4) Detailed rotors; 5) Molded in white colored plastic; 6) Spinning primary and tail rotors and 7) Illustrated assembly instructions.  The box is in very good condition.  Never started and 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions inventoried.
