The book, Within Limits: The United States Air Force and the Korean War comes from a collection of books celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of the founding of the United States Air Force in 1947.  This edition chronicles the limited engagement doctrine the United States Air Force had to operate within during the Korean War which began in 1950 and ended in a signed armistice in 1953.  As the aithors point out, despite American success in preventing the takeover of South Korea by the Communist North Korea, the Korean War when it ended, did not satisfy the American public as they had come to expect a total and complete victory as experienced in World War II.  Despite the United States Air Force having effectively ended World War II with the dropping of atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan, in Korea it was forced to use only conventional bombs and to confine its operations to south of the Chinese border.  While this politically inspired policy may have served to confine the war to North and South Korea, it lead to a protracted war of attrition and no formal end to hostilities. It is important to note, however, that despite these oeprational limitations, the United States Air Force was able to help repel two invasions of South Korea while securing control of the skies so decisively that othe United Nations coalition forces could fight on the ground without fear of air attack.  It is also interesting to note that this "limited rules of engagement policy" is what constrained the United States Air Force activity a decade later in another Southeast Asian country called Vietnam.  The main sections of this book are as follows: 1) Invasion; 2) Strategic Bombers and Tactical Problems; 3) From Inchon to Pyongyang; 4) Chinese Intervention; 5) MiG Alley;  6) Stalemate; 7) Interdiction; 8) Air Pressure and 9) Suggested Readings.  This book includes 12 vintage black and white photographs and one map.  This book is 62 pages and is in very good condition.  The authors are Wayne Thompson and Bernard C. Nalty.  Edition published in 1996.

I have long tohught that the only way to make headway in this field is to get the official scientific establishment on side. To do this the UFO research community must get hard headed scientists to look at the data and to make them realise that an extrao
