The book, Aircraft Of World War II includes basic data and photographs of more than 300 of the primary aircraft flown by the warring belligerents during World War II.  Also included are brief notes on almost 200 more experimental or minor operational types of the period.  The format for each of the aircraft reviewed includes a brief half page summary, one or more photographs and brief technical details including: 1) Engine; 2) Span; 3) Length; 4) Height; 5) Weight loaded; 6) Number of crew; 7) Maximum speed; 8) Service ceiling; 9) Range and 10) Armament.  While the original first edition of “Aircraft Of World War II” was first published in 1962, this subsequent 2nd edition copy includes a new enlarged format, with eight pages of color plates and eight extra black and white pages.  The second edition of this book also includes about 270 black and white photographs that were not published in the first edition release.  “Aircraft Of World War II” still has popular appeal as a handy comprehensive, one volume survey to the principal aircraft flown by Germany, Great Briton, Italy, Japan, Russia and the United States of America (U.S.A.) during the 1939 to 1945 time period.  The major sections of “Aircraft Of World War II” are as follows: 1) Introduction; 2) Background To The Belligerents (Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Japan, Russia & U.S.A.); 3) Nomenclature Of Service Aircraft; 4) Aircraft Of The Principal Powers (Major Types & Minor Types); 5) Aircraft Of The Secondary Powers; 6) Other Types and 7) Index.  In addition to an informative narrative complete with aircraft technical specifications, “Aircraft Of World War II” includes the following features: 1) Approximately 340 photographs and 2) 8 pages of color plates.  This book is 272 pages and is in excellent condition.  The author is Kenneth Munson.  Edition published in 1972.
