The Grumman F8F Bearcat was a single radial engine, single seat carrier based fighter built for the United States Navy.  While it was deployed to late in World War II to actually see any combat it went on to equipped a number of carrier based squadrons between World War II and the Korean war.  It was also exported in sizable numbers to the French Air Force who used it to fight the Communist forces in Vietnam during the early 1950s.  The F8F Bearcat could reach speeds of over 420 m.p.h. at altitude and was highly maneuverable.  It also, carried six .50 caliber machine guns and had external hardpoints on the wings to carry a light bombload.  This older Bearcat F8F is molded in navy blue colored plastic and includes the following features: 1) Authentic markings for an aircraft operated by the United States Navy: 2) Bombs, drop tank and rockets; 3) Clear plastic canopy; 4) Clear plastic display stand; 5) Pilot figure and 6) Illustrated assembly instructions.  Note: the price of this model reflects the fact that the two piece wing has been neatly glued together.  The box is in excellent condition.  Never started except as noted above and 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions inventoried.
