The Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-6 was the most numerous sub-type of the German Luftwaffe's basic front-line fighter to see service in World War II.  The subject of the book, Bf 109 G-6 (Topshots), is the acquisition and restoration of a Bf 109 G-6 Red 3 which was lost on takeoff probably due to an engine malfunction on the morning of May 28th, 1944.  While the pilot likely died instantly upon impact into Lake Trzebun it took two weeks to recover his body and then the aircraft sat submerged at the bottom of the lake until it was recovered in 1999 for restoration.   Included in this high quality photographic book are: 1) 103 color photographs; 2) 2 color aircraft profiles and 3) 3 detailed line drawings.  Note: the small decal sheet originally included in this book is missing.  This book is 36 pages and is in like new condition.  The authors are Miroslaw Zelechowski and Jakub Pleka with Arkadiusz Wrobel (illustrator).  Edition published in 2005.
