This postcard depicts a steam-powered locomotive pulling 1 baggage car and 6 passenger cars passing over a bridge, as it is about to enter a mountain tunnel in the distance.  The scene is rich in earth tones, sparse green vegetation all set against a blue sky in the upper right-hand portion of the postcard.  The legend on the back of this postcard reads: "Long ago when the saddle horse and overland stage followed beaten trails up and down rugged mountain wildernesses, a days journey lay between points we now pass in a half-hour's ride behind our horse of steel.  Then each peculiarity of nature in any section was relatively more prominent than now, and the name it bore had usually some local significance.  Hence, Johnson's canyon, a picturesque little gorge a few miles west of Williams, bears the name of a one time local character."  This postcard is identified by the number 12992 and is marked a "Phostint" card.  It contains no writing, is free of noticeable stains or marks and is in overall excellent condition.
