The book, Carrier Lexington represents a complete photographic tour of this great aircraft carrier, now a museum ship in Corpus Christi, Texas.  Throughout the pages of “Carrier Lexington” the reader gets a close-in look at the technological wonders and history United States naval aviation.  Entering World War II as the second of the new Essex-class carriers, the U.S.S. Lexington destroyed more than one thousand Japanese aircraft, sank more than a million tons of enemy shipping in the Pacific combat theater and was the first American warship to enter Tokyo Bay after the conclusion of hostilities in August 1945.  Finally decommissioned on November 8, 1991, the Lexington was the last World War II era aircraft carrier to retire from active duty.  The major sections of “Carrier Lexington” are as follows: 1) List Of Illustrations; 2) Foreword, By Jerry Chipman; 3) Preface; 4) Acknowledgements; 5) INTRODUCTION, By Robert J.
