The book, Condor Legion, tells the interesting story of the famed German military aviators who were formed for the purpose of participating in aerial combat supporting General Franco during the Spainish Civil War.  These specially choosen airmen which numbered 700 in all, particapted as a "hired" air force that could be used by General Franco to attack towns and strong points controlled by the central Spainish government.  The airmen were there not just to assist General Franco, they were also there to test their new German aircraft.  In Spain they rehearsed the bombing of towns, proved the concept of dive bombing and developed the tactic of close support for ground troops.  Their experience proved absolutely vital to Germany's many early successes on the battlefield early in World War II.  The major sections of this book include the following: 1) Introduction; 2) Dog Fight; 3) Birth of the Luftwaffe; 4) Violent Solution; 5) Rebellion; 6) Taking Sides; 7) Enthusiastic Amateurs; 8) Professionals; 9) Germans versus Russians; 10) The Siege of Madrid and 11) Surrender.  In addition to an informative narrative, this book includes the following features: 1) Approximately 133 black and white vintage photographs and 2) About 50 black and white illustrations.  This book is 160 pages and is in very good condition.  The author is Peter Elstob.  Edition published in 1973.
