The Consolidated-Vultee B-24 H Liberator was the most widely produced American heavy bomber during World War II. A key reason it was produced in large numbers is that it was also licensed built during the war by Douglas, Ford and North American Aviation. While it was clumsy-looking, it was slightly faster and carried a heavier bomb load than its more famous contempory bomber, the Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress. The B-24 H carried forward a number of refinements first seen on the G variant including the power operated turrent in the nose of the bomber. This detailed B-24 H model includes authentic decals for a bomber from the 93rd Bomb Group, Of the Eighth Air Force, in England during World War II. Called the Traveling Circus, the 93rd was the oldest B-24 group in the 8th Air Force. This model features the following: 1) Engraved panel lines; 2) Fully detailed bomb-bay with 500 pound bombs and 3) Optional position bomb-bay doors. Also included in this package are aftermarket vac-u-form canopies for all positions that had plexiglass in the actual bomber and detailed illustrated instructions. The box is in excellent condition. Never started and 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions inventoried.
