The 1962 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible was built in the last year prior to cutting over to the now classic sharp edge "Stingray" body style. The 1962 Corvette model was also the last to come with a solid-rear axle suspension that had been an integral component since the vehicle's inception in 1953. Other styling features that disappeared after the 1962 Corvette included chrome rocker trim panel and contrasting paint colors in cove areas. The 1962 Corvette was also the last model to have a trunk until it was "reintroduced" in 1998. The following four small block engine choices were available in the 1962 Corvette: 1) 327 cu. in. 250 horsepower V-8; 2) 327 cu. in. 300 horsepower V-8; 3) 327 cu. in. 340 horsepower V-8 and 4) 327 cu. in. 360 horsepower fuel injected V-8. This Corvette 50th Anniversary: 1962 Corvette scaled model includes the following features: 1) Chrome parts; 2) Clear plastic windshield; 3) Detailed small-block V-8 engine; 4) Detailed interior; 5) Hood can be displayed in the closed or open position; 6) Vinyl blackwall tires and 7) Illustrated assembly instructions. The box is in new condition. Never started and factory sealed.
