The 1994 Chevrolet Corvette was built in the next to last year of the forth generation of Corvettes that were manufactured for the model years 1984 through 1996.  The forth generation of Corvettes represented the first all-new design in fifteen years and the most sophisticated to date.  In 1991 the Corvette model received updates to body-work, interior and wheels.  The 1994 Chevrolet Corvette could be ordered as a 2 door "targa top", coupe or convertible.  Engine options included no less than six different V-8 packages.  Transmission options included a 4-speed automatic along with either a 4-speed or 6 speed manual transmission.  In a bid to improve engine performance, General Motors had acquired Group Lotus, an engineering and performance car manufacturing firm, in 1986.  Within four years the collaborative effort led to the design of the ultra-high performance ZR-1 aluminum block V-8 engine.  The manufacturing of the special assembly ZR-1 engines was outsourced to Mercury Marine Corporation.  The first ZR-1 Corvette went on sale in 1990 and a very limited production run of this vehicle continued through the 1995 model year.    During the 1990 to 1995 model years the horsepower and performance of the Corvette ZR-1 continued to improve.  Unfortunately, as the performance of the Corvette ZR-1 continued to improve, the price increased dramatically placing the vehicle into direct competition with Porsche and other high-end European sports cars.  This unenviable position resulted in the cancellation of the ZR-1 engine performance package after the 1995 model year.  This Corvette 50th Anniversary: 1994 Corvette ZR-1 scaled model includes the following features: 1) Chrome parts; 2) Clear plastic glass areas; 3) Detailed large aluminum block ZR-1 V-8 engine; 4) Detailed interior; 5) Hood can be displayed in the closed or open position; 6) Vinyl blackwall tires and 7) Illustrated assembly instructions.  The box is in new condition.  Never started and factory sealed.
