The book, Corvette Roadster: A History Of Chevrolet's Open Sports Car From 1953-1986 covers the history of the Corvettes, showing them passing from design, generation to generation. From 1953-1985 the following six, distinct generations of Corvettes were produced: 1) 1953; 2) 1956; 3) 1958; 4) 1963; 5) 1968 and 6) 1984. Each of these six Corvette generations had their own unique characteristics especially as it relates to body shape and available engine. Besides the thorough coverage of the different model years, this book includes impressions gained from driving the 1986 roadster which was the vehicle chosen to be the pace car for the running of the 70th Indianapolis 500 in 1986. "Corvette Roadster" also includes short historical reviews of five of the individuals most responsible for designing or building the six generations of Corvettes from 1953 through 1986.
