The book, Deadly Duo: represents a pictorial review covering two of the most interesting American medium bombers of World War II, the North American B-25 Mitchell and the Martin B-26 Marauder. While the B-25 and B-26 medium bombers both were built to the same United States Army Air Corps design requirements, they could have hardly been more different. The B-25 was a boxy appearing, stable performing plane with a structural capability of absorbing numerous modifications including many performed in the field. The B-25's rugged construction and relatively tame handling capabilities allowed it to operate out of crude landing strips wherever it was deployed. The B-26 on the other hand was an unforgiving streamlined, state-of-the-art high performance aircraft that required longer, improved runway conditions, which meant that it was far better, suited to operate out of bases in England. The emphasis of "Deadly Duo: The B-25 and B-26 in WW II" is on each aircraft's development and combat histories. The major sections of "Deadly Duo: The B-25 and B-26 in WW II" are as follows: 1) Introduction; 2) Chapter 1 Cannon Carrier Extraordinary; 3) Chapter 2 The Unidentical Twins; 4) Chapter 3 Anatomy of a Mitchell; 5) Chapter 4 Mission From Shangri-La - and Others; 6) Chapter 5 Anatomy of a Marauder; 7) Chapter 6 The Marauder Missions; 8) Chapter 7 Another Day -- Another Headline; 9) Chapter 8 Manicured Mediums - The Businessman's Bomber; 10) Chapter 9 Medium Magic in Retrospect; 11) Chapter 10 B-25 Data Directory; 12) Chapter 11 B-26 Data Directory; 13) Index and 14) Bibliography. Also included in "Deadly Duo: The B-25 and B-26 in WW II" are the following specially commissioned drawings: 1) B-25 C 3-view; 2) B-25 H 3-view; 3) B-25 J 3-view; 4) B-25 J Engineering Specifications 3-view; 5) B-26 3-view; 6) B-26 B-10 Engineering Specifications 3-view; 7) B-26 C 3-view; 8) B-26 F 3-view; 9) B-26 A Inboard profile (fold out) and 10) B-25 J Inboard profile (fold out).
