The Douglas A-20J Havoc was a World War II, American built twin engine attack, light bomber and night fighter aircraft that served with several Allied air forces, mainly those of the Soviet Union, United Kingdom and United States.  The DB-7 variant was also used by the air forces of Australia, South Africa, France and the Netherlands during World War II and was even utilized after the war by Brazil.  The A-20J was named the Boston by British and Commonwealth air forces while the nightfighter  P-70 variant was called the Havoc.  The J variant, which is the subject of this model, carried an additional bombardier in an extended acrylic glass nose section.  These aircraft were intended to lead bombing formations with the following standard A-20 light bombers dropping their bombs when signaled by the lead aircraft.  A total of 450 were built for the Summer of 1944 with 169 allocated for the R.A.F. and designated Boston Mk IV.  Included in this 90 part kit are the following: 1) Detailed cockpit; 2) Detailed landing gear; 3) A-20 J clear frameless Bombardier's nose and 4) illustrated assembly instructions.  Also included are authentic markings for the following two aircraft: 1) "Maxine" an A-20 J with the 648th Bomber Squadron, 410th Bomb Group stationed in Gosfield, England and 2) A British R.A.F. Boston I.V..  The box is in excellent condition.  Never started and factory sealed.
