The "Independence" was a specially modified C-118 military transport used by President Harry S. Truman as his official flying office.  The C-118 was the military version of the Douglas DC-6 airliner but was slightly shorter in length.  This kit is an accurate, scaled reproduction of this famous aircraft and includes the following: 1) A copy of a page from the actual guest pamplet given passengers traveling with the President; 2) Authentic markings for the "Independence"; 3) Clear cockpit windows; 4) Rotating propellers; 5) Detailed landing gear and 6) Illustrated assembly instructions.  Never started and factory sealed.
