This English Pikeman 1642 model represents a pikeman of the English Civil War (1642 - 1651).  During this war, both Royalists and Parliamentarians employed this form of foot soldier.  Pikeman were used tactically to form square formations in order to protect the Musketeers from Cavalry attacks.  In practice, their 18 foot long pikes were difficult to handle and as such required physically strong men to effectively use them.  This British Pikeman 1642 model figure is molded in off-white plastic and includes the following features: 1) Display base; 2) Multi-position arms; 3) Pike; 4) Sword; 5) Painting guide and 6) Illustrated assembly instructions.  The model package is in very good condition.  Never started and 100% complete with all parts and instructions inventoried.
