The F-111 Aardvark represented the first United States Air Force production aircraft to feature a variable swept-wing design. While the aircraft's original design filled mission roles for both the United States Air Force and Navy, only the former moved ahead with the development of would become the General Dynamics F-111 Aardvark. Although the F-111 suffered a number of "teething" problems early on in its deployment to the Southeast Asia, it ultimately went on to become one of the most reliable aircraft flown by the United States Air Force and the air forces of Allied countries. After the Vietnam War, the F-111 went on to see combat in the skies over Libya and in Operation Desert Storm. Although retired from the United States Air Force, the F-111 C is still being flown by pilots of the Royal Australian Air Force. The book, F-111 Aardvark Walk Around (Color Series) takes an inside and out look at one of the safest and most effective aircraft to have flown in the United States Air Force. In addition to an informative narrative, "F-111 Aardvark Walk Around (Color Series)" includes the following features: 1) 14 black and white photographs; 2) Approximately 217 color photographs; 3) 1 black and white illustration; 4) 1 three-way F-111A black and white illustration with specifications; 5) 12 color side aircraft profile illustrations and 6) 2 color cover paintings. This book is 80 pages and is in new condition. The author is Ken Neubeck with Don Greer (colorist) and Matheu Spraggins (illustrations). Edition published in 2008.
