The F9F Panther was the first Grumman built fighter / bomber jet ordered post World War II for use by both the United States Navy and Marine Corps. The 5P variant was designed and built to provide the photo-reconnaissance role for both the United States Navy and Marine Corps. This F9F-5P Panther model includes the following features: 1) Authentic markings for two aircraft; A) BuNo 126280, US Marines VMCJ-3, Marine Corps Air Station El Toro, September 1956 and B) BuNo 126275, US Navy VU-1"Unique Antiquers", Naval Air Station China Lake, July 1957; 2) Clear two piece plastic canopy; 3) Detailed Cockpit; 4) Detailed wheel wells; 5) Detailed speed brake; 6) Instrument and cockpit console faces and stencils; 7) Optional position speed brake; 8) Optional seated pilot; 9) Recessed panel lines; 10) Two drop tanks and 11) Illustrated assembly instructions. The box is in mint condition. Never started and factory sealed.
