The book, Fast Attack Craft, represents a pictorial study of a class of warship that had its beginings in the vessels launched by both the Allied and Axis forces during World War II.  The author makes the point that while the small coastal, fast attack ship was "back-burnered" during the immediate post World War II years, it has more recently been given a much higher priority as part of many major navies around the world.  Wirh good acceleration and maneuverability, these ships still offer the stealthy fast approach and deliverance of weaponry thanks in large part to rapid-fire, medium caliber guns, as well as, surface-to-surface and surface-to-air missile delivery systems.  Since this type of vessel has the ability to strike larger targets and survive, they will still have a role to play in naval engagements for many years to come.  This book charts the development of these vessels through the following: 1) 75 black and white photographs; 2) 16 color photographs; 3) Two pages of comparative statistical data and 4) Three pages of black and white line illustrations.  No naval professional or civilian student of modern naval defence can have a complete knowledge of current maritime strategies without the understanding this book provides of the role played by fast attack craft.  This book is approximately 69 pages.  The author is Anthony J.
