The Fieseler Fi 156 Storch or Stork was a lightweight, single engine, German hospital evacuation, liaison, observation and personal transportation aircraft that was even used for light bombing duties by the Wehrmacht during World War II.  This early Short Take-Off and Landing (S.T.O.L.) aircraft utilized Handley-Page slots on the leading edge of the wing along with fully extendable flaps on the rear to dramatically change the angle of the wing.  This capability coupled with a relatively powerful engine allowed the Storch to maintain full flight control at speeds as low as 31 mph.  The Storch could land in unimproved fields in as little as 5 yards and could take-off in only 55 yards.  This 56 piece older Fieseler Fi 156 Storch / MS-500 scaled model can be built as either a Fi 156 as flown on tank-spotting duties with the famed Africa-Korps during World War II or as a post-war, French-built Morane-Saulnier MS-500 "Criquet".  This Fieseler Fi 156 Storch model also includes the following features: 1) Authentic markings for either a Fi 156 operated by Germany during World War II by the 14th Staffel / Luftwaffe or a MS-500 operated post-war by Force Francaise, Atlantique GR 3/33; 2) Clear multi-piece cockpit glass areas; 3) Detailed interior; 4) Detailed landing struts; 5) Molded in light gray colored plastic; 6) Simulated fabric covering; 7) Painting guide and 8) Illustrated assembly instructions.  The box is in very good condition.  Never started and 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions inventoried.
