The movie, Fighter Squadron (Archive Collection) centers on a United States Army Air Force P-47 Thunderbolt pilot named Ed Hardin.  Hardin, known for being a reckless "flyboy", must temper his impulsiveness and tendency of being an insubordinate fighter pilot when the men of his squadron are entrusted to his leadership.  Hardin takes command of his P-47 squadron just as it is transitioning away from being an escort for American bombers to a new role of ground attack and interdiction.  One of the more dramatic scenes in "Fighter Squadron (Archive Collection)" follows Ed Hardin as he returns from a mission with a battle-damaged P-47 and is forced to do a "wheels-up" landing at his fighter base located in the English countryside.  "Fighter Squadron (Archive Collection) is filled with extraordinary actual wartime film footage, which will appeal to any aviation enthusiast.  While this movie includes persuasive drama, it also has some of the most over-the-top bravado ever captured in an American war themed movie.  Note: this disc is expected to play only in DVD video "play only" devices and may not play back in other DVD devices including recorders and PC drives.  Starring Edmond O'Brien, Robert Stack and John Rodney among others.  Full screen in black & white and color.  Released in 1948.  Runtime 96 minutes.
