The book, Focke Wulf FW 190 In Action (# 19) represents an authoritative and concise pictorial study of the Fw 190 single seat radial engine fighter flown by the Luftwaffe and by the air forces of other Axis countries from 1941 through to the end of World War II in Europe in May of 1945.  When the Focke Wulf Fw-190 first appeared on the Western European front in the Autumn of 1941 it gave the Allied air forces quite a shock as it was a very formidable opponent.  It could out-turn, out-run and out-dive the Supermarine Spitfire V, which was the best fighter the British R.A.F. then had.  While the Spitfire V could out-turn the Fw-190, the latter had a superior roll rate.  In addition to performing the role of interceptor, a number of Fw-190 variants were specifically designed to carry bombs on external "hard-points" and thus performed the role of fighter-bomber.  While perhaps not the equal of late model American P-47 Thunderbolts and P-51 Mustangs, the Fw-190 in the hands of a skilled Luftwaffe pilot, was able to hold its own against these aircraft throughout the end of World War II.  The major sections of "Focke Wulf FW 190 In Action (# 19)" are as follows: 1) Fw 190 Wurger; 2) Fw 190 A-2; 3) Fw 190 A-3; 4) Fw 190 A-4; 5) Fw 190 A-5; 6) Fw 190 A-6; 7) Fw 190 A-7; 8) Fw 190 A-8; 9) Fw 190 F and 8) Fw 190 G.  In addition to an informative narrative, "Focke Wulf FW 190 In Action (# 19)" includes the following features: 1) Approximately 95 black and white photographs; 2) About 17 black and white illustrations; 3) 10 color side aircraft profile illustrations; 4) 1 three-view Fw 190 A-3 black and white illustration with specifications; 5) 1 page titled (Field Conversion Kits) highlighting possible airframe and armament field modifications; 6) 1 three-view Fw 190 A-8 black and white illustration with specifications; and 7) 3 color cover aircraft paintings.  This book is 50 pages and is in very good condition.  The author is Jerry L. Campbell with Don Greer (illustrations).  Edition published in 1975.
