The book, Focke-Wulf Fw 190 & Ta 152 Described (Part 2) is an Australian publication and represents the second installment of a pictorial review focused on the legendary  Fw 190 and Ta 152 flown so successfully during World War II by the German Luftwaffe.  As previously described in this series, the radial engine Fw 190 had already proven to be a formidable fighter at low and medium altitudes.  Above altitudes of 20,000 feet, however, the performance of the early Fw 190s declined rapidly making it largely ineffective in combating the massive American daylight bomber offensive over Germany that began in 1943.  Focke-Wulf's solution to this problem came in the form of the "long-nose" Fw 190 D series of which the D-9 variant was the definitive version produced.  The Fw D-9 was certainly one of the finest fighters produced by either side during World War II.  The performance of the Fw 190 D-9 and towards the end of the war the Ta 152 possessed significant high altitude performance capabilities, which allowed them to attack the large bomber streams and their escorts quite successfully.  Unfortunately for the German Luftwaffe both aircraft came in the final stages of World War II and were not available in sufficient numbers to change the outcome of the war.  In addition to an informative narrative and picture captions, "Focke-Wulf Fw 190 & Ta 152 Described (Part 2)" includes the following features: 1) Approximately 49 black and white photographs; 2) 2 black and white illustrations; 3) 10 color side aircraft profile illustrations; 4) 1 Ta 152 C-1 black and white cutaway illustration with component descriptions; 5) 1 two-view Fw 190 F-3 color illustration; 6) 1 two-view Focke-Wulf Fw 190 D-9 black and white illustration; 7) 1 five-view Focke-Wulf Ta 152 H-1 black and white illustration; 8) 1 three-view Focke-Wulf Fw 190 D-9 black and white illustration; 9) 1 two-view Fw 190 G-3 color illustration; 10) 1 two-view Fw 190 D-9 black and white illustration; 11) 1 two-view Fw 190 D-9 color illustration with RLM color guide and 12) 1 two-view TA 152 H-1 black and white illustration.  "Focke-Wulf Fw 190 & Ta 152 Described (Part 2)" is sure to appeal to both the aviation enthusiast and modeler alike.  This book is 29 pages and is in good condition.  The authors are Anthony Sherman and Geoffrey Pentland with Kenneth A. Merrick (camouflage and markings).  Edition published in 1969.
