The Focke-Wulf Fw-187 "Falke" was an experimental twin-engined, two seat fighter that was developed early in World War II for the German Luftwaffe.  The three known aircraft that were built were not accepted by the Luftwaffe but were instead assigned to the "Industrieschutzstaffel" (Industrial protection squadron) in order to protect the factories of Focke-Wulf at Bremen.  While there, the aircraft were flown by Focke-Wulf test pilots and according to some sources were credited with several victories during their tenure.  The surviving aircraft were later assigned to a lesser known Luftwaffe fighter squadron.  In 1942 these aircraft were transferred to a "FF-Schule" (Pilot Training School) at Vaerlose, Denmark for air gunnery training.  While the Fw-187 was considered for production as a nightfighter for a short time, its relatively low performance preempted this from happening.  The Fw-187 could reach speeds of just over 325 m.p.h. and had a service ceiling of almost 30,000 feet.  It carried four 7.9 mm MG 17 machine guns and two 20 mm cannon.  This older, out-of-production kit from West Germany is molded in olive drab colored plastic and includes the following features: 1) Authentic markings for a Fw-187 "Falke" as operated during World War II by a "test squadron"; 2) Clear vacuum formed canopy and plastic floor window; 3) Detailed cockpit; 4) Detailed landing gear; 5) Recessed panel lines; 6) Painting guide and 7) Illustrated assembly instructions.  This is an interesting model of a lesser known German World War II era experimental aircraft.  The box is in good condition.   Never started and 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions inventoried.
