The Focke-Wulf 190 was considered by many to be the most beautifully proportioned and aerodynamically efficient aircraft to come out of World War II. It was designed initially as a fighter to possibly replace the Messerschmitt Bf-109 but through continuous modification during the war came to be used as the German Luftwaffe's most versatile single engined light-attack bomber. The Fw 190 first saw combat in 1941 and served to the end of the war in ever increasing numbers but in the end was simply overwelmed by the shear numbers of Allied fighters thrown against it. This older, out of production Focke-Wulf Fw 190 A super kit can be detailed as one of three different versions. The aircraft options are the following: 1) Fw 190 A-5 flown by 102 victory Luftwaffe 'ace' Josef "Sepp" Wurmheller Staffel Kapitan of 9/JG2; 2) A-8 operated on the Eastern Front by Gruppen Kommandeur Walter Noworthy of 1/JG 54 "Grun Herz" and 3) F-2 fighter bomber also used in the east on ground support duties. The following features are included in this ki:t 1) Fully detailed BMW 801 radial engine with revolving propeller and removable panels; 2) Optional wing guns; 3) Sliding canopy; 4) Retractable undercarriage; 5) Movable control serfaces and 6) Outstanding cockpit detail complete with gunsight and instruments. The box is in very good condition with wear on the corners and several black paint marks on the lower front corner of the box. Never started and 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions inventoried.
