The Fokker D-VII was a single-seat, biplane fighter designed by Reinhold Platz and produced by the Fokker-Flugzeugwerke during World War I.  The Fokker D-VII made its first flight in January 1918 and before production ceased late in the year, approximately 3,300 were manufactured.  The Fokker D-VII was formidable adversary in its air battles with the Allied fighters flying over the western front during the last year of World War I.  Its status as a high performance fighter so impressed the Allies, in fact, that they required Germany to surrender all D-VII at the conclusion of hostilities On November 11, 1918.  The Fokker D VII was powered by a 180 horsepower Mercedes engine, which gave it a top speed of 116 mph and a service ceiling of just under 20,000 feet.  The Fokker D VII's armament consisted of two 7.92 mm "Spandau" machine guns that were synchronized to fire through the propeller.  This older, already built Fokker D-VII scaled model was part of the Bachman "Mini-Planes" series available for sale in the late 1960s up through the 1970s.  This Fokker D-VII scaled model features the following: 1) Authentic colors; 2) Hand decorated; 3) Moving parts and 4) Super detailed.  The box is in good condition.  Never started and 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions inventoried.
