 The book, Ghost Liners: Exploring the world's greatest lost ships tells the story of five of the greatest historic ocean liner sinkings through words, amazing photographs and vivid color illustrations.  These great floating palaces of yesteryear are illustrated as they were during their prime and as they appear today on the ocean floor.  This exploration of these great ocean liners is conducted by none other than the legendary Dr. Robert Ballard who won fame as the person responsible for discovering the wreck of the R.M.S. Titanic which rests 2.5 miles beneath the sea.  The major sections of this book are as follows: 1) Prologue - From Titanic to Britannic; 2) Ghost Liner: The Unsinkable Wreck of R.M.S. Titanic; 3) Fourteen Minutes of Terror: The Tragedy of the Empress of Ireland; 4) Casualty of War: The Sinking of the Lusitania; 5) Innocent Victim: The Loss of H.M.H.S. Britannic; 6) Amazing Rescue: The Collision of the Stockholm and the Andrea Doria; 7) Epilogue: The Lure of the Ghost Liners and 8) Acknowledgments.  In addition to an informative narrative, the book Ghost Liners: Exploring the world's greatest lost ships includes the following: 1) Approximately 27 vintage black and white photographs; 2) About 52 color photographs; 3) 2 black and white illustrations and 4) 35 color illustrations.  This book is 64 pages and is in good condition.  The author is Dr. Robert Ballard with Rick Archbold (text) and Ken Marschall (illustrations).  Edition published in 1998.
