The movie, God Is My Co-Pilot, represents wartime history and action entertainment at its best.  This movie is based on the popular best selling book of the same name written by fighter pilot Colonel Robert Lee Scott, Jr. an aviator who flew with the World War II era volunteer aviation group of flyers known as the "Flying Tigers".  The famed "Flying Tigers" were battle seaoned aviators that were headed by the legendary General Claire Chennault.  They flew from air bases in Burma on behalf of the Chinese government and had as their primary mission the job of keeping open the vital Chinese supply road known as the Burma Road.  In this move, Scott comes to the group as a relative novice but over time becomes and "ace" having achieved the shooting down of at least five confirmed enemy Japanese aircraft.  Scott is assured, cool under fire and convinced that his success is based solely on his skill and courage.  After several brushes with death, he comes to realize what many other aviators already know and that is that a higher power must be looking out after him.  This movie was produced in the last year of World War II and quickly became both popular and a "home-front" spirit lifter.  The movie, God Is My Co-Pilot, is uplifting but unforetunately today is difficult to find.  Starring Dennis Morgan, Dane Clark and Raymond Massey among others.  Full screen in black and white.  Released in 1945.  Runtime 88 minutes.
