The Curtiss Goshawk was a single engine, single seat, biplane figter deployed by the U.S. Navy during the 1930s.  It is probably the most admired of all the fighter planes the Navy flew in the early 1930s.  They saw service with the famous "High Hat" squadron (VF-1B) aboard the carrier U.S.S. Saratoga.  On the eve of World War II the Goshawk as well as all other biplane carrier-based fighters were replaced by the Grumman F4F Wildcat.  This older, out-of-production model of the Goshawk F11C-2 has the upper wing struts and landing gear molded in the fuselage halves for easier assembly.  Other features of this kit include: 1) Detailed engine; 2) Pilot figure; 3) Simulated fabric covering: 4) Clear windscreen; 5) Authentic decals for the "High Hat" squadron and 6) Display stand.  The box is in excellent condition.  Never started and 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions inventoried.
