The film, Great Fighting Jets: F-16 Fighting Falcon, provides both the background and solid coverage of the development of the F-16 Fighting Falcon. The General Dynamics designed and built single engine F-16 Falcon jet fighter replaced the venerable F-4 Phantom as the primary United States Air Force air superiority fighter during the 1980s. It was first revealed to the public in numerous air show demonstration flights in the early 1970s. With greater operational performance and having a lower cost per unit than the contemporary F-15 E Strike Eagle, the F-16 Falcon has also become the mainstay of many foreign Air Forces including the Israeli Air Force. The operational characteristics of the F-16 Fighting Falcon are as follows: 1) Above Mach 2.0; 2) Combat range almost 575 miles and 3) Service ceiling of more than 50,000 feet. Full screen in black and white & color. Release date 1988. Runtime 54 minutes.
