The Grumman A-6 Intruder was an American twin jet, two seat, mid-wing attack jet built primarily to serve with the United States Navy aboard fleet aircraft carriers.  It was initially introduced in 1963 and saw extensive service operating off American aircraft carriers in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam War.  By the time it was retired in 1997 it had also been deployed with the United States Marine Corps and in total almost 700 units of all variants had been produced by the time production ceased.  The operational characteristics of the Grumman A-6 Intruder are as follows: 1) Top speed of almost 650 m.p.h.; 2) Combat range of about 3,300 miles and 3) Service ceiling of just under 41,000 feet.  The Grumman A-6 A Intruder could carry up to 18,000 lbs of ordnance attached to five external fuselage and wing "hard-points".  The weaponry typically included different combinations of bombs, missiles and rockets.  This older Grumman A-6 A Intruder model is modled in white plastic and includes the following features: 1) Authentic markings for A-6 A Intruder aircraft operating off of the U.S.S.
