The Grumman F4F-4 was a radial engined, single seat, six gun, folding wing carrier based American fighter that served with distinction during the opening stages of World War II in the Pacific combat theater. It was, in fact, the primary naval fighter available to the United States Navy prior to the introduction of the Grumman F6F Hellcat in 1943. The export version of the famous F4F-4 fighter was named the Martlet Mk. V. by the Royal Navy. This F4F-4 / Martlet Mk.
