The Handley Page Halifax four-engine bomber is regarded as one of the most famous heavy bombers to go into active service with R.A.F. Bomber command during World War II.  The Halifax was introduced into service in 1941.  In addition to its main role in  Bomber Command (BI/BII versions), it also served in R.A.F. Coastal Command  (GR 11 version).  The last Halifax was in service with Coastal Command until 1952.  This Handley Page Halifax B.III scaled model includes the following features: 1) Authentic markings for two R.A.F. aircraft; A) 'Friday the 13th' No 158 Squadron, Elvington, UK. March 1944 and B) No. 78 Squadron, Yorkshire, UK, 1944; 2) Basic cockpit; 3) Basic bombardier's station; 4) Clear plastic cockpit and fuselage glass areas; 5) Gunner figures; 6) Hinged control surfaces; 7) Optional retractable landing gear; 8) Recessed panel lines; 9) Rotating turrets; 10) Seated aircrew figures and 11) Illustrated assembly instructions.  The box is in new condition.  Never started and factory sealed.
