The Hanriot HD. 1. in its compact and well-balanced simplicity can be ranked along with the Sopwith Pup as one of the prettiest aeroplane designs of World War I and its flying qualities easily matched its aesthetic appeal. While this French designed fighter aeroplane while uesed to great effect by the Italians and to a lesser degree by the Belgian air services from 1917 until the end of World War I in 1918, the French did not adobt it feeling as they did that it was not a substantial improvement over the Nieuport fighters for which they were seeking a replacement. An interesting side note includes the fact that this fighter was mated with floats which allowed some examples to operate from naval installations. The book Hanriot Hd.1 (Wind-Sock Data Files # 12) includes 56 black and white photographs, 4 color profiles and archive drawings which are sure to be interesting to aircraft historians. This book is 25 pages and is in like new condition. The authors are J. M. Bruce and R. L. Rimell. Edition published in 1988.
