The Hawker Tempest was a British Fighter / Bomber aircraft primarily used by the Royal Air Force (R.A.F.) during World War II. It was developed in part from the earlier Hawker Typhoon and was deployed as the Tempest V starting in 1944. In all, 1,702 Hawker Tempests were built and although it was mainly used by the R.A.F., it was also used in limited numbers by Canada, India, New Zealand and Pakistan. The Tempest was used up through the mid-1950s. This older, out-of-production "Tempest' kit is quality engineered in two-colors. Authentic decals are included for two aircraft: 1) R.A.F. No. 6 Squadron, Tempest Mk VI, Nicosia, November, 1945 and 2) Royal Indian Air Force, No. 7 Squadron, Tempest Mk II, Poona, India, 1949. Also, included are alternative parts to build the radial engined version used by the Indian Air Force, detailed assembly instructions and color paint plan. The box is in excellent condition with original tape on the sides of the box. Never started and factory sealed.
