The German Heinkel He 111 was the backbone of the Luftwaffe's bombing arm in World War II from the first attacks on Poland in 1939 continuing to the Battle Of Britain and then later to the attack on Russia.  While scheduled to be replace later in the World War II by a more modern designed aircraft, circumstances deemed that it continue in service and showing its versatility was adapted to perform the role of torpedo bomber, guided bomb carrier, paratroop transport, glider tug and even provisional night fighter on the Eastern Front serving the Reich until the end.  The book, Heinkel He 111 A Documentary History, includes the following chapters: 1) Heinkel He 64 Rotor Teufel; 2) Heinkel He 70 Blitz; 3) Heinkel He 111: The benign beginning; 4) Into Luftwaffe service; 5) The He 111 gets a new look; 6) Baptism of Fire over Poland; 7) The Battle in the "Watery Triangle"; 8) Operating Wesserubung; 9) The Campaign in the West; 10) The Battle Of Britain; 11) The Mediterranean and the Balkans; 12) The He 111 becomes the "Maid of all Work" and  13) The twin Heinkel He 111.  Also included in this book is an Introduction, Epilogue, Scources and Appendices  with Data Tables, Luftwaffe units equipped with the He 111, Equivalent ranks and Glossary.   Included in this book are approximately 385 vintage black and white photographs, numerous cut-away line illustrations and many detailed line drawings.  This book is 256 pages and is in like new condition.  The author is Heinz Nowarra.  Edition published in 1980.
