The Heinkel He 162 A Volksjager was a German air defense jet fighter developed under the "People's Fighter" plan conceived in 1944.  Built out of largely "non-strategic" materials and powered by a single BMW0003 E-1 engine mounted on its back, the He 162 A could achieve a top speed of nearly 522 mph.  Its armament consisted of a pair of 20 mm cannons.  While a total of approximately 112 aircraft were built and delivered to JG 1 towards the end of World War II in 1945, they arrived too late to have any significant impact on the outcome of the war.   This older, out-of-production 20 piece Heinkel He 162-A scaled model includes the following features:  1) Authentic markings for a Heinkel He 162 A as flown by the German Luftwaffe late in World War II; 2) Clear one piece plastic canopy; 3) Model molded in green colored plastic; 4) Recessed panel lines; 5) Two piece clear plastic display base and 6) Illustrated assembly instructions.   Note: this model is molded in 1/100 scale, which makes it a somewhat unique kit.  The box is in good condition.  Never started and 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions inventoried.
