The movie, Hell To Eternity tells the true World War II story of a United States Marine soldier named Guy Gabaldon who single handedly convinces Japanese troops on a Pacific Island to voluntarily surrender.  Guy Gabaldon's rugged, real life story included being raised in East Los Angeles by a Japanese-American family where he learned early on both Japanese customs and language.  Later, as a United States Marine in World War II, he uses his unique cross-cultural background to solicit and gain the surrender of first nine Japanese soldiers followed by another handful and then another until he has successfully convinced hundreds of the enemy to surrender without a fight.  Guy Gabaldon's quick thinking and display of courage and self-sacrifice undoubtedly saved untold numbers of his fellow "Devil Dogs".  Guy Gabaldon's story would be unbelievable if it were not true.  Starring Jeffrey Hunter, David Janssen and Vic Damone among others.  Widescreen in black and white.  Released in 1960.  Runtime 132 minutes.
