The movie, Hellfighters is loosely patterned after famed Texas oil well firefighter legendary "Red" Adair.  "Red" Adair's character is named Chance Buckman who flys around the world in his private jet to tamed out-of-control infernos in often exotic locations.  Chance's assistant is Greg Parker who is an up and coming oil well firefighter.  Between fires, Chance "carries the torch" for Madelyn, the wife who left him 20 years earlier because of his dangerous lifestyle.  A secondary plot swirls around Greg who becomes romantically entangled with Tish, Chance's spunky daughter.  This film features spectacular special effects and exciting locations in Texas and Wyoming.  Starring John Wayne, Jim Hutton and Katherine Ross among others.  Full screen in color.  Released in 1968.  Runtime 121 minutes.
