Hell's Angels is a story of love, war and the ultimate betrayal.  This WW I drama was directed by Howard Hughes and is renowned for its stunning air combat scene, which required 137 pilots to shoot and cost a staggering $3.8 million to produce.  Perhaps the greatest scene focuses on a massive "dog fight" between the British and German planes, which perhaps has never been duplicated.  In the end, this movie is both a special effects wonder and an often-told tail of betrayal and sacrafice.  Starring Ben Lyon, James Hall, Jean Harlow, John Darrow and Lucien Prival.  Fullscreen in BW.  Released in 1930.  Runtime 129 minutes.
