The Lotus 49 B was developed in the early 1960s to compete on the demanding Grand Prix racing circuit.  The Lotus 49 B was powered by an 8-cylinder Ford Cosworth DFV engine, which developed 420 horsepower and gave this racecar a top speed of about 186 mph.  Acceleration over 437 and 1,094 yards was 10 and 26.3 seconds respectively.  The mono-shell construction approach couple with the Cosworth DFV engine and a rear mounted veritable aileron made the Lotus 49 B a very successful racecar in the late 1960s.  The Lotus 49 B claimed four Grand Prix victories in 1967.  The following drivers achieved victories: 1) Graham Hill 3 wins plus the title of World Champion in 1968; 2) Jim Clark 1 win at the Grand Prix race held in South Africa and 3) Joseph Siffert 1 win at the Grand Prix race held in Great Britain.  This older Historic Racing Cars: Lotus 49 B scaled model includes the following features: 1) Authentic racing decals; 2) Clear plastic cockpit glass areas; 3) Detailed body; 4) Detailed chassis; 5) Detailed engine; 6) Detailed interior; 7) Molded in black and red colored plastic; 8) Rear mounted stabilizer wing; 9) Vinyl Firestone Racing Tires and 10) Illustrated assembly instructions.  The box is in very good condition. Never started and 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions inventoried.
