The book, Hitler's Wartime Picture Magazine, represents a compilation of photographs and relevant narratives taken from the German, World War II era Wehrmacht publication called Signal Magazine.  Signal magazine was produced by the German Wehrmacht under the supervision of the Ministry of Propaganda and was distributed in occupied Europe between 1940 and 1945.  Its circulation reached its apogee of three million copies in 1943 and was produced in twenty different languages.  The magazine's purpose began as a propaganda tool to show the population of occupied Europe the excellent conditions of life in Germany, as well as, the power and might of the German armed forces.  Later as the fortunes of war turned towards the Allies, this publication became openly anti-American and anti-British.  The propaganda purpose, towards the latter part of World War II in Europe, then turned toward the Nazi's trying to convince any remaining occupied countries that they were far better off under their rule then if they were taken over by the Allied Forces marching across the continent.  This book represents one of the finest collections of wartime photographs and reveals in its entirety the Third Reich's view of itself.  The major sections of this pictorial compilation of Signal Magazine articles, photographs and captions includes the following major sections: 1) Introduction (by S.L. Mayer); 2) Blitzkrieg 1940; 3) The War Against The Allies; 4) The Eastern Front and 5) The Seed Of The Third World War (by Giselher Wirsing).  In the end, the book, Hitler's Wartime Picture Magazine, represents a living record of the Nazi propaganda machine in its most persuasive, colorful and very illustrative format.  This book is sure to appeal to anyone interested in World War II history.  This book is 187 pages and is in excellent condition.  The editor is S.L. Mayer.  Edition published in 1976.
